Rustic Balsamic & Brie Pizza

  • 1 pre-made pizza base
  • 2 ½ tbsp Black Mamba Basil Cayenne Pesto
  • 1 small red onion
  • 2-3 tbsp brown sugar
  • 3 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • ½ cup grated mozzarella
  • 6 Italian baby tomatoes
  • 10 small salami pieces
  • ½ block of brie cut into pieces
  • Fresh rocket
  • Mixed herbs seasoning
  • Balsamic glaze
  • Olive oil
  • Salt & black pepper 


  1. Preheat oven to 190.C
  2. In a pan on medium heat, add in some olive oil, 1 chopped red onion (thin rings), 2-3 tbsp brown sugar, 3 tbsp balsamic vinegar, salt and black pepper. Cook the onions until they caramelize, once caramelized remove from heat and set aside. 
  3. Add 2 ½ tbsp of Black Mamba Basil Cayenne Pesto onto the pizza base. Spread it around evenly until the base is well covered. Sprinkle on ½ cup grated mozzarella, Italian baby tomatoes, salami and pieces of brie. Add your preferred amount of the caramelized onions (from step 2), a sprinkle of mixed herb seasoning, some salt and black pepper. Lastly, add a drizzle of balsamic glaze over the pizza. 
  4. Place the pizza in oven and let it cook for about 20 minutes.
  5. Remove pizza from oven when ready, garnish with some fresh rocket before serving!
